Coronavirus: Nigerian lawyers sue China for $200b



A consortium of Nigerian lawyers, following the adverse effect of the Coronavirus pandemic on Nigerians, have filed a class action suit against China. The lawyers, who are demanding $200 billion as damages for the "loss of life, economic strangulation, trauma, hardship, social disorientation, mental torture and disruption of the normal daily existence of people in Nigeria," said they have concluded pleadings for the class action against the Chinese government. The London Commonwealth Arbitral Tribunal, representing Nigeria and Africa, announced that they had prepared a two-phase course of action.



Azinge said: 'The legal expert team prepared a two-stage course of action-: first, with the Federal High Court of Nigeria and, second, to convince the Federal Republic of Nigeria to bring a state action against the People's Republic of China before the International Court of Justice in the Hague 'The legal experts will seek damages amounting to 200 billion dolla
