Two more deaths from coronavirus were reported in Lagos,
bringing the total death toll on the state to 18.
Health Commissioner Akin Abayomi of the state confirmed on Thursday
23 April 2020 that the victims died on Wednesday 22 April.
As previously announced by Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), the
state also reported 74 new cases of the disease on Wednesday.
Lagos is the epicenter of Nigeria's coronavirus outbreak with 504 cases, 57.7 percent of Nigeria's total — 873 as of April 22. Nigeria reported coronavirus cases in
25 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.197 recovered and discharged, and 28 died in total, according to the latest update of the NCDC on Wednesday
Following a meeting on the Nigerian Governors Forum unanimously decided to introduce an inter-state lockdown to reduce the spread of the virus from state to state for the
next two weeks. Most states in the country are already lockdown in a bid to contain the spread of the disease that has infected more than 2,6 million people worldwide
